so, i’m finally back from vacation and i decide to do something different with my attire. typically i wear this dress with the linen belt it came with and heels. however, i wanted to jazz things up a bit. still proper for work, still me without having to buy new to accessorize and voila. my coworkers thought i looked like pochahontas. i’m ok with that.

i know, it’s been a week since i last posted. it’s been a casual week, with not much inspiration in dress. but today, i had to meet someone in the office so i put a bit more care in my appearance. this is a prime example of how i could’ve taken advantage of some accessory wear, only i don’t have many. i could’ve spruced up my look with maybe belt or bangle bracelets? yeah, i think about all that after i’ve left the house. useless.

you know what happens when you mess around with the settings of your camera the night before because it was dark and you wanted to snap shots of the office holiday party and then you forget to reset the settings properly? lots of noise. so much noise that you have to make your picture black/white for it to be viewable.

so i did take pictures yesterday of my outfit, in my office but i decided not to post them. i’m a repeat dresser, sometimes i mix-match articles of clothing and sometimes i don’t. sometimes what i’m wearing is not blog-worthy and those are the days i’ll be silent. yesterday was a silent day.
today? not so much. we have a company holiday party tonite and i dressed up for the occasion.
i wish i could wax purple prose about my attire today but alas, i can’t. by coincidence, my city football team is playing tonight and their colors are purple so i have spirit, how about you? i also overslept so i wasn’t able to take pix at home, instead, i brought the dslr to work to shoot pix of my office. i keep my door shut most of the time so now maybe you understand why i am so casual most of the time… i’m rarely seen. i can’t change that but i can certainly attempt to change my dress … when time and inclination permits.
my office is similiar to my room at home – slightly cluttered, the floor strewn with random clothing articles. i’ve a pair of tennis shoes for the days when i feel like walking on the treadmill, a yoga mat for the days when i feel like stretching and i keep both my purse & lunch bag on the floor, to trip over or to make my floor fashionable…
sorry for the delay. i spent my birthday weekend out of town & it was quite the stretch for me to even pose at a place other than my fire escape. thankfully the b&b i stayed at had a balcony right off my room that i could make use of.

i worked from home today, spending the bulk of my day in pjs but then i pulled myself together to go to a work happy hour in DC. it is cold out, i must really like my coworkers to brave that kinda temperature… or i just like the alcohol…

i am not a fan of turtlenecks — something about the constriction around my neck leaves me feeling uncomfortable. this is why i don’t wear necklaces much and just the barest amount of time with scarves and cowls. so it’s no suprise that i’m sitting here at my desk with the turtleneck sweater discarded aside and i’m sporting a typical long sleeve shirt.
